Official Emergency Documentation

Update: August 21

While the BC Wildfire Service has classified the wildfire as Under Control, meaning it is not expected to spread beyond its current perimeter, dry and hot conditions continue to be a factor and can influence wildfire behaviour.

Emergency officials and BC Wildfire Service personnel continue to monitor conditions closely.

Evacuation alert status
Evacuation Alerts will remain in place until emergency officials determine they can be safely rescinded.

Residents on Evacuation Alert are encouraged to stay informed and remain prepared should conditions change. Thank you for your continued patience, preparedness and vigilance.

The north end of Westside Road has reopened.

We are asking people to keep travel to local traffic only - if you are travelling on Westside Road, please do not stop along the roadway.

In the coming days, residents will begin returning to their properties, including some who may be assessing significant damage or loss. Please respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Following a wildfire, hazards may remain along roadways and wildlife activity may be higher than usual. Please drive slowly, follow posted speed limits and obey all signage.

Keeping the route clear for residents, essential services and others who need access will help support the community’s recovery.
