Quilpituk Creek Wildfire: August 10 Update
Central Okanagan West Electoral Area, B.C. – The evacuation orders for the properties in the Quilpituk Creek Wildfire area will remain in place.
The BC Wildfire Service currently lists the Quilpituk Creek Wildfire at 1,238 hectares and remains out of control. Structural Protection crews are continuing to perform tactical patrols and maintain established systems around the clock.
The Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) is finalizing re-entry planning to support a safe and coordinated return home. Key priorities include assessing danger trees along Westside Road corridor, evaluating slope stability and restoring water service to the Killiney and Westshore Estates systems. Residents served by these systems will return under a boil water advisory until it is safe to lift.
Westside Road remains closed in both directions. See details of the closure at DriveBC.
