Remaining Evacuation Order Rescinded for the Munro Lake Wildfire

Peachland/Regional District of Central Okanagan, B.C. – Beginning at 12 p.m. today, the final property under Evacuation Order for the Munro Lake Wildfire will be rescinded thanks to the combined efforts of BC Wildfire crews and improved weather conditions.

  • The ZipZone Adventure Park at 5875 Brenda Mines Road

BC Wildfire has classified the wildfire as Under Control, meaning it is not expected to spread beyond its current perimeter. The public may observe smoke rising from areas well within a fire’s perimeter over the coming weeks, typically surrounded by blackened, burned material. This is generally not a cause for concern. However, smoke emerging from green, unburned vegetation or from outside the fire’s perimeter should be reported immediately at 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 on a cell.

BC Wildfire continues to have personnel on-site supporting fire suppression efforts and mop-up activities. For your safety, residents should avoid entering the post-wildfire area, as it may contain unstable terrain, ash pits and other risks.
