Fire crews responding: Tactical evacuation underway for Daves Creek Wildfire 

Central Okanagan, B.C.  – The Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre has been activated to support Daves Creek Wildfire. Fire Rescue, along with BC Wildfire Service, are actioning the wildfire located in the vicinity of Joe Rich and Goudie Road, which has prompted tactical evacuations. Highway 33 is closed between Goudie Road and Cardinal Creek. Check drive.bc.ca for current highway conditions. 

Evacuation Muster Centres 

All residents who have been tactically evacuated may proceed to one of the following muster stations: 

  • Kelowna Salvation Army, 1480 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna 
  • Joe Rich Community Hall, 11481 Hwy 33, Kelowna 

Give crews room 

For public safety reasons, residents and visitors are reminded to maintain a safe distance from the fire and all fire suppression activities. Motorists are reminded that they should not be stopping along Highway 33 to observe or take photos of the wildfire and to allow crews to safely do their work. Motorists are to follow the direction of road crews.
