WHAT YOU SHOULD DO WHEN YOU RETURN HOME:
-
Remain prepared for an evacuation alert to turn into an order. Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside the evacuation area, should an Evacuation Order be called while separated.
-
Pack essential items such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (e.g. insurance, credit, and mortgage information), immediate care needs for dependents and, if time and space permits, keepsakes for quick departure.
-
Prepare to move disabled persons, children and/or neighbours, if assistance is needed.
-
Prepare to take pets with you and move livestock to a safe area (if possible).
-
Arrange transportation for all your household members. Fill the gas tanks of personal vehicles. If transportation assistance is needed contact the Public Information Line at 250-469-8490.
-
Arrange accommodation for all members of the residence, if possible.
-
Wait for an Evacuation Order to be issued before evacuating.

With residents now able to return to their homes the Emergency Support Services muster centre at Westbank Lion’s Community Centre has now closed.
As firefighters continue to monitor and address hot spots overnight and over the coming days, residents should expect to see some residual smoke from the wildfire, as well as the regular movement of fire equipment. Residents who see fire activity outside expected areas should call *5555 to report a wildfire and 911 to report a fire within city limits.
For public safety reasons, residents and visitors are reminded to maintain a safe distance from fire suppression activities. Kalamoir Regional Park remains closed to the public at this time. For up to date information, visit rdco.com/parks.
New information will be released to the public and media as soon as it becomes available. Emergency Operations Centre staff thank residents for their patience.
This will be the last update from the Emergency Operations Centre this evening unless conditions change.
