Daves Creek Wildfire: Evacuation Alert rescinded
Central Okanagan, B.C. – The Daves Creek Wildfire evacuation alert is now rescinded. This includes the following three addresses in the Joe Rich area.
- 5609, 5615, 5619 Goudie Road
As firefighters continue to monitor and address hot spots, area residents should expect to see some residual smoke and tree removals by BC Wildfire Service, as well as the regular movement of fire equipment.
Residents in the area can expect traffic disruptions on Goudie Road, with single-lane alternating traffic starting at noon today, as crews assess and remove danger trees until the work is complete, which is expected this week. Please give crews room to work and follow direction from personnel for the safety of everyone.
For traffic updates on Highway 33, visit DriveBC.com for updates.
People who see fire activity outside expected areas should call *5555 to report a wildfire and 911 to report a fire within city limits.
The Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre thanks local residents, the BC Wildfire Service, fire departments from Joe Rich, Ellison, and Kelowna, RCMP, Emergency Support Services volunteers, members of the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue and provincial agencies for their quick response and support. We sincerely thank the Joe Rich Community for opening the Community Hall to accommodate evacuees.
